Pawprint Studio has confirmed that Aniimo will launch worldwide on iOS and Android on September 23, one week after its September 16 debut on PC and consoles. The free-to-play creature-collecting RPG enters a suddenly crowded market, but it is arriving with a substantial launch roster of more than 200 collectible Aniimo. Players explore the world of Idyll as Pathfinders, capturing and training creatures that can participate in combat and help with traversal.

Different Aniimo can provide abilities such as swimming or gliding, encouraging players to think about exploration utility as well as battle strength. Parties can contain four creatures that can be switched during fights, while rarity variants and evolved forms create additional collection layers. Mobile performance will be closely watched because Aniimo presents a much larger and more visually elaborate world than traditional creature collectors.

The staggered launch may actually help Pawprint Studio, giving the team a week to identify major backend or balance problems before the largest potential device population arrives. September is shaping up to be an unusually busy month for cross-platform mobile RPGs.
