Japanese developer NextNinja has announced JJK: Heavy Armed High School Girls - Wordless Record, a new smartphone RPG based on the distinctive illustration series created by artist neco. The announcement arrived on October 14 alongside the opening of pre-registration and the release of an introductory trailer. Despite the rather intimidating title, the game combines military-inspired character designs with a surprisingly gentle approach to everyday interactions.

Players observe a group of heavily armed schoolgirls from the perspective of a cat, experiencing both their dangerous battles and their quieter moments between missions. The game uses idle RPG mechanics, allowing character progression without requiring players to remain constantly involved in combat. Its presentation also emphasises character relationships, voice performances and relaxation features, including ASMR audio. Three principal characters have been introduced.

Touka is voiced by Rie Takahashi, Kanade by Sayumi Suzushiro and Honami by Yoshino Aoyama. Each character possesses a distinctive personality, with the story apparently balancing demanding combat situations against more comfortable everyday activities. The announcement also includes newly commissioned artwork from neco, whose original illustrations established the franchise's recognisable visual identity. Pre-registration is available through the official website and associated social channels.

A definitive release date has not yet been announced. The project illustrates the continuing popularity of character-focused mobile RPGs in Japan, where distinctive artwork and voice acting can be just as commercially important as gameplay systems. Whether watching heavily armed students through the eyes of a cat produces an engaging long-term experience remains to be seen. At the very least, it offers a rather unusual interpretation of school life.
