Fairphone 6+ reaches wider audiences with faster hardware and the same repair-first philosophy

Fairphone's new Fairphone 6+ is receiving wider international attention after its August launch, combining a faster Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and 12GB of RAM with the company's established modular design. Owners can replace components such as the battery, screen and cameras using ordinary tools rather than relying on specialized repair centers.

Fairphone says the device contains a high proportion of recycled or ethically sourced materials and backs it with a five-year warranty plus software support through 2033. Buyers can choose conventional Android or a privacy-focused /e/OS edition developed with Murena. Performance remains mid-range rather than flagship, and reviewers note compromises in camera quality, battery efficiency and water resistance. Yet those comparisons overlook Fairphone's primary selling point.

A device that can be repaired economically for seven years offers a different definition of value than a phone designed primarily around annual benchmark improvements. The 6+ also preserves modular compatibility with parts from the previous Fairphone 6, an unusually consumer-friendly decision in an industry where accessories often become obsolete after one generation.
