Pokémon TCG Pocket enters final countdown to Team Rocket's Ambition booster

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is now only two days away from releasing Team Rocket's Ambition on August 27. The themed booster centers on one of Pokémon's most recognizable villainous organizations and introduces Team Rocket-branded Pokémon and Trainer cards, including familiar creatures such as Mewtwo, Persian, Arbok and the legendary bird trio.

The expansion will immediately feed into additional events beginning August 28, with special missions awarding Shady Tickets and an Emblem Event providing another progression track. Further Team Rocket-themed activities continue into September. Pokémon TCG Pocket has maintained an unusually aggressive release cadence since launch, which keeps collectors constantly engaged but also increases pressure on free-to-play players trying to maintain complete sets.

Team Rocket is an especially strong nostalgia play because the characters and visual identity are recognizable even to people whose last substantial Pokémon experience was decades ago. The expansion therefore has potential to bring back lapsed players as well as satisfy the existing competitive community. The bigger test will be whether the new cards meaningfully change deck construction rather than simply expanding collections.
