ColorSweeper's World Painter event turns solitary logic puzzles into global cooperation

ColorSweeper is currently running World Painter, a global cooperative event that transforms its usually solitary logic puzzles into a shared restoration project. Players are assigned three worlds that have lost their color and equip matching palettes while completing the game's Minesweeper- and Nonogram-inspired puzzles.

Every successful puzzle contributes both to the player's personal score and to a global restoration meter, while accumulated progress can be used to create the limited Proof of Restoration commemorative sticker. The event also displays leading contributors and worldwide progress in real time, adding a competitive layer to what is fundamentally a cooperative objective. World Painter runs through August 27, making the next two days the final opportunity to participate.

The concept is clever because ColorSweeper does not need to redesign its core gameplay to make the event feel communal. Instead, ordinary puzzle solving becomes part of a larger global goal. That approach may be particularly effective for puzzle games, where asynchronous participation fits naturally into the genre's short-session mobile structure.
